Autobiography

S. Golotyuk  at the beginning of the Space Age :))

I was born in Leningrad (now St. Petersburg) in 1957. The same year, the first artificial satellite of the Earth was launched, thereby introducing mankind, as it is said, into the space age of its existence. Later on, after graduating from Moscow Aviation Institute, being engaged in satellite development and space operations analysis, and also (still later) studying and describing the past and the present state thereof, I spent perhaps more efforts on this space existence than on earthly one.

My first experience as a journalist, back in 1978, was a short reportage published in the city of Norilsk by a local newspaper Zapolarnaya Pravda (Trans-Polar Truth). In early 1980s collaboration began with a small newspaper titled Znamya Kommunizma (The Banner of Communism) in Moscow region. During 1990s I became a reporter and/or contributing editor (initially free-lance) for a number of newspapers and magazines, mostly Moscow-based ones.

The first genealogical experience dates back to 1985, when I composed an ingenious combination of pedigree and descendant chart for my own (then) expected offspring. However, deep studies began much later. Fascinated by these, I joined Historical & Genealogical Society in Moscow (2000), and Ukrainian Heraldry Society (2001). Participated in genealogical conferences in Moscow (2000, 2001, etc.) and in Lvov (2001, 2002).
